*Which week is it? The calendar now tells you, and prints as many weeks as you need.*

---

Today’s release of [Virto Calendar App](https://www.virtosoftware.com/microsoft-365/virto-calendar-overlay-app/) and [Virto Shared Calendar](https://www.virtosoftware.com/microsoft-teams/virto-teams-shared-calendar/) is live for every customer. Both apps now show the week number next to the dates in the Week and Work week views, and both print a whole range of weeks in one go. Virto Calendar App also gets ready for the end of Exchange Web Services (EWS) in Exchange Online.

## The week number, right in the toolbar

Many teams plan in weeks: the release ships in week 47, the audit is in week 50. In the Week and Work week views the toolbar now shows the number of the week on screen, right next to the date range, so nobody has to count it on a wall calendar.

The number follows the first day of the week set for your calendar:

- **Weeks start on Monday:** ISO 8601 numbering, the standard across Europe. Week 1 is the week with the first Thursday of the year.
- **Weeks start on Sunday:** week 1 is the week that contains January 1, as is common in the US.

The week number is also printed in the header of each week. Virto Shared Calendar shows it in the same place:

## Print a range of weeks

Until now, printing the Week view meant printing one week. The Print dialog of the Week and Work week views now has **From** and **To** dates: pick the first and the last week, and the dialog shows how many weeks it will print. Every week goes on its own page, so a month of shift plans or a quarter of sprints comes out of the printer in one job.

- **Up to 26 weeks at once**, about half a year. For a longer range the dialog says so and the **Print** button stays disabled; print it in two parts.
- **What you see is what you print.** In Virto Calendar App, the printout keeps the filters and the search of the current view.
- **All-day events fit the sheet.** A week with all-day events is scaled down slightly, never below 80%, so it still fits on one page.

## Virto Calendar App and the end of EWS

Microsoft is retiring Exchange Web Services (EWS) in Exchange Online: it began switching EWS off on October 1, 2026, and turns it off for good on April 1, 2027 ([Microsoft Learn](https://learn.microsoft.com/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/deprecation-of-ews-exchange-online)). This release prepares Virto Calendar App for it:

- **Outlook calendars shared with you now load through Microsoft Graph** instead of EWS, so they keep showing when EWS is off. A shared calendar you cannot edit is shown read-only, with its colors and categories.
- **Public folder calendars still need EWS.** If your organization has turned EWS off, a warning bar above the calendar now says that public folder calendars can’t be shown, instead of leaving them silently empty. You can close the bar.

## Smaller fixes

- **Number fields look as they do in the list.** Values such as % Complete from a SharePoint task list show in the event tooltip as “40 %”, not “0.4” (Virto Calendar App).
- **iCal tooltips in your language.** Events from internet (iCal) calendars show their field names in your language in Virto Calendar App. In Virto Shared Calendar the field now reads “Modified” instead of “Modifed”.
- **A clean iCal download link** for events from shared calendars, without a stray “undefined” (Virto Calendar App).
- **Legends and colors are easier to edit.** Typing a name into a legend row no longer loses letters, and a hex color typed into the color picker is no longer overwritten while you type (Virto Calendar App).

## Do I need to do anything?

No. Both apps run as cloud services, so the update is already there. If a calendar tab has been open since before the update, reload it once.

One change for administrators of Virto Calendar App: license groups are now Microsoft Entra groups. If you licensed users through SharePoint groups, add them again as Microsoft Entra groups in the app’s license settings.

If either app runs [in your own Azure tenant](https://www.virtosoftware.com/deploy-virto-apps-in-m365/), note that the new builds read their keys and connection strings from app settings instead of the configuration file. **Try it:** Virto Calendar App is available on Microsoft Marketplace — [start a 30-day free trial](https://marketplace.microsoft.com/en-us/product/WA200006993?tab=Overview) and open the Week view. Virto Shared Calendar has a [free plan](https://marketplace.microsoft.com/en-us/product/office/WA200008672?tab=Overview) with up to 15 entries per calendar.
