Virto Calendar Online App: December 2021 Update

We have updated the Virto Calendar Overlay Pro App for Office 365. Now Virto calendar supports Australia central as a data storage location. As you remember, we already have West US and West EU on the list.
Go to the calendar settings and choose the data storage location you prefer. Save the settings to apply the changes.
In case you need another location to store your data, please contact Virto support.
Virto Alerts App Supports Hourly Summary
November 26, 2021
We have improved Virto Alerts App for Office 365 functionality. Now the app supports hourly summary. Use the feature when you need to send a summary of alerting messages every (1, 2, 3 …) hour. For example, to get a report of tasks being changed.
To apply the feature, open the “Options” section of alert settings and choose “Send an hourly summary” in the”When to send alerts” field. Define hours to send alerts and save the changed settings. Please feel free to leave feedback on the new features of VirtoSoftware products.
Bulk File Downloader: November 2021 Update

We have updated the Virto Bulk File Downloader web part. The web part has been updated for SharePoint 2016 and 2019 versions to 5.5.43 and to 5.5.42 for SharePoint 2013.

Updated Bulk File Copy Move (November 2021 Update)

VirtoSoftware has updated Virto Bulk File Copy and Move . The web part is available for SharePoint 2019 version (v. 4.2.16).
We have fixed:
- The calendar geolocation field has been excluded from copy/move operation.

Virto Kanban Board On-Premise: Bulk Actions in the Latest Update

- Bulk swimlane change.

Bulk File Copy Move: Tasks List and Version History

We have updated Virto Bulk File Copy and Move web part. The web part has been updated for SharePoint 2019 version to 4.2.15.
We have added:
- Support to preserve version history on moving library files on the same site;
- Support for Tasks lists.
We have fixed:
- Disable copy/move ribbon for users with view-only permission;
- Copy/move multi-language issue.
- Copy/move actions available for user with edit list items permission only.

Virto Kanban Board App Updated: Adding Fields to a Custom List

We have released the update of the Virto Kanban Board Online App for Office 365 and MS Teams.
Now the updated app supports adding fields of these three types to your source list:
- Date field
- Comments field
- Labels field.
In case you do not have appropriate fields in the SharePoint list which you need to use for your board as a source, you can add them.

Resource Manager On-Premise: October 2021 Update

Adding SPFx Web Part Error “Sorry Apps are Turned Off”: What to Do
October 4, 2021
There are some situations, when you may get an error “Sorry, Apps are turned off. If You Know Who Runs the Server, Tell Them to Enable Apps” while installing Virto SPFx app on your SharePoint 2019 server. Here are the steps you need to do depending on the reason. Define why you’ve probably got this error and choose the right solution.
Reason 1: Apps are not enabled on your farm
In this case, you should check the Apps on your SharePoint 2019 farm and make them available.
- Go to SharePoint 2019 Central Administration.
- Open Store settings and find Apps — Configure settings.
- Check you have chosen Yes for Should end-users be able to get apps from the SharePoint Store?
Reason 2: The subscription service is not configured on your farm
Configure the Subscription Settings
To configure the Subscription Settings, do the steps as follows.
- Go to SharePoint 2019 Central Administration.
- On the System Settings page, click Manage Services on this farm.
- Click Enable Auto Provision for Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Subscription Settings Service.
- Open SharePoint 2019 Management Shell and create MS SharePoint Foundation Subscription Settings Service using PowerShell
Run the command in PowerShell:
$sa = New-SPSubscriptionSettingsServiceApplication -ApplicationPool 'SharePoint Web Services Default' -Name 'Subscriptions Settings Service Application' -DatabaseName 'Subscription'
Then thins one:
New-SPSubscriptionSettingsServiceApplicationProxy -ServiceApplication $sa
As a result of these commands running, you should see the server DisplayName, TypeName, and ID as a table.
Finally, check your SharePoint Foundation Subscription Settings Service and proxy created in Service Applications. Then go to Manage service applications and find the Subscription Settings Service Application and Subscription Settings Service Application Proxy.
After that, you should configure the App Management Service Application.
Configure App Management Service Application
- Go to SharePoint 2019 Central Administration.
- Find Manage service applications on the Application Management page.
- Click New and select App Management Service.
- Specify the name for the service application in the Service Application Name field.
- Choose SharePoint Web Services Default from the Use existing application pool list in the Application Pool.
- Check App Management Service and its proxy created on the Manage Service Page.
Reason 3: App Management Service Application is not associated with your web application
In this case, you should check App Management Service Application is associated with your web application where you want to add the Virto App. If not, follow these simple steps:
- Go to SharePoint 2019 Central Administration.
- Find Application Management — Configure service application associations.
- Check the web application where you want to add Virto App has App Management Service associated to it.
- If not, please associate your App Management Service with your web application as follows.
- Click on the Application proxy group available next to your web application. In the dialog box, check the App Management Service is Enabled. Click OK.
As a result, you should see the App Management Service Application associated with your web application where you wish to add Virto App.
Reason 4: You have not configured the App URLs.
Note: You should check you have given values to App Domain and App Prefix in your App Store settings.
After you have configured the App Management service, you need to ensure the App URL for your apps is configured. Follow the steps below.
- Open SharePoint 2019 Central Administration.
- Go to Apps and click Configure App URLs.
- Check you have filled in App Domain and App Prefix. Once you specify these values, click OK.
Here are the possible reasons why get the mentioned error. If you still meet the issue and cannot install the app. please contact the Virto Support Team. We will find the solution as soon as possible.
Portfolio Project Manager App Update

The updated Virto Portfolio Project Manager online app is ready to use.
What we have changed:
- Default constraint. Now you can define the default project constraint (choose the one from three classic constraints: date, work, or full-time equivalent);
- Date format. Now you can change the date format using the special code. See which code you need in the offered list.
- Default currency. You can add a currency from the list with its rate to the list of default currencies. Use them for your project calculations.

Virto Kanban Board App Updated (September 2021)

We have updated Virto Kanban Board Online App for Office 365 and MS Teams. Take a look at what we have changed and improved:
- Updated swimlanes: now you can choose a swimlane field from a dropdown directly on the board to switch between swimlanes;
- Subtasks: the updated app supports using subtasks to split complex tasks to steps;
- Changed font: new font if applied to task titles.

Virto Kanban Board App Updated: Use New Script for Default SharePoint Form

The improved Virto Kanban Board Online App for Office 365 and MS Teams is already available for use.
In case you’re using the Virto Kanban as a web part, you should use the script as follows for correct work.
Go to the SharePoint site page where the Kanban Board as a web part is added and switch to the edit mode. Copy the script and check the box “Use default SharePoint form” in the Kanban Board app settings.
Insert the copied script to the Script editor added to the page and save the changes. Start using!

Virto Password Reset Web Part: Meet the New Version for SPFx

Virto SharePoint Password Reset Web Part for SharePoint 2019 now supports use on SharePoint Framework (SPFx). Use the Password Reset web part on modern sites and pages on your SharePoint 2019.
How to Install
Get on with the Password Reset SPFx web part:
1) To install the Virto Password Reset web part, first run the Setup.exe file as administrator under the farm administrator account.
2) Create an App Catalog in your SharePoint if necessary.
Then the system will upload the “spfx.sppkg” file to “Apps for SharePoint.” Now you can add Virto Password Reset on the modern pages/sites.
Note! Please do not use an administrator account to install and activate the SPFx web part.
In addition, you can find the installation guide in the .zip archive. Just look it through before you install the web part.

VirtoSoftware has released the updated version of the Virto Gantt Chart web part for SharePoint 2013, 2016, and 2019.
Let’s see what’s new in the web part.
TreeGrid Gantt Engine
We have changed the engine. Now the Gantt web part works on the TreeGrid engine. Now you have all the features you got used to working with but on the faster AJAX grid with the richest features on the Internet.
New Appearance
Since we have changed the engine, the web part looks in another way now. Take a look at the new appearance and enjoy working with the Gantt chart.
Improved Filtering by Dates
Updated web part allows to filter the chart by dates with the help of operators: equal, not equal, less than, less than or equal, greater than, greater than or equal. Use them to find a task in the specified range.
Also, the web part is available in German now.

How to start using Virto Calendar SPFx web part
1) Create a Tenant App Catalog in your SharePoint if necessary.
2) Run the Setup.exe file under the farm administrator account. (Click the right mouse button on the .exe file and choose “Run as administrator”). Please do not use a service administrative account to install and activate the SPFx web part on your sites.
The .sppkg file will be automatically uploaded to your Tenant App Catalog into “Apps for SharePoint.” But we highly recommend verifying that your app catalog contains the file with Virto Calendar.
Now just add Virto Calendar on modern sites and pages of your SharePoint.

Bulk File Downloader: April Update

We have updated the Virto Bulk File Downloader web part. The web part has been updated for SharePoint 2013 and 2016 versions to 5.5.37 and to 5.5.39 for SharePoint 2019.
In the latest update we have fixed for SP 2013 and 2016:
- Folder size calculation
- Re-download cache issue
- Ribbon buttons permissions issue
- The issue with total size calculation, web part configuration, and bulk downloader on list attachments
Additionally, we have also made UI improvements:
