Tag Cloud Web Part Settings

When the web part is added to the SharePoint site page, you have to adjust its view. Use “Edit - Modify Shared Web Part” button.

The settings block will be displayed.

It is required define site and list from which the tags will be taken.

Then you can define maximum tag count and font size. It is also possible to select type of sorting (rate or alphabetical) and interface typealphabetical).

Once you have define all the settings click “OK” to finish adjustment or “Apply” to save settings and continue.

Settings for Tagging System

First of all site administrator has to define general settings that will be applied to tagging system. Go to “Site Actions – Site Settings – Modify All Site Settings”.

Now roll down and follow the link “Virto Tagging Main settings”. On the displayed page define the settings for tags

The following options are available:
•    Allow users to add tag lists or not;
•    Show “All Tags” on tag adding or not;
•    Maximum count of items in the tag list;
•    Delimiter;
•    Maximum count of items in popular tags list;
•    Help String;
•    Font Size.

Virto Tag Cloud Usage

When users work with the list and its items on SharePoint site, they can select tags (or create new ones if it is allowed) for list items.

To define tags for list item, start typing the name of a tag. The hint will be displayed.

Or click on the required tags in the tags block. The selected tags will be highlighted in yellow.

Tags defined for list items are shown in the corresponding column.

The adjusted Web Part added to the SharePoint site page looks as follows (according to the settings). Frequently used tags are displayed with larger font.

In case it is required to find items related to a certain tag, user should just click on the required tag. The list of items related to this tag will be displayed.

Relating Tag List to another SharePoint List

Tag list must be related to a SharePoint list. Users will be able to select tags and create new ones (if it is allowed). To adjust the relation between tag list and another list, go to the required list page.

Go to “Settings” menu and click “Create Column”.

Type the title of tag field and select “Tag field” type of column. This type is available after Virto Tag Cloud Web Part installation.

Now define whether to allow users to add new tags to the list or they will be able to select only from existing items. Then select the list (Tag List) created before. Tags will be taken from this list. It is also possible to create new tag list and relate it to the current one.

Now click “OK” to save the settings.

Creating Tag List (tags' data base)

Now type the name of new tag list on the bottom of the page and click “Create New Tag List”. Then click “Save”

Now go to created list and create some tags in it (“New – New Item”).

Created tags will be used by SharePoint users while working with list items according to the web part settings.

Adding the Tag Field Web Part to a Page

Go to SharePoint site where you want to add the web part and open “Site Actions - Edit page”.

You will switch to edit mode. Click “Add a Web Part”.

Select Virto Password Reset Web Part for SharePoint at the bottom of the list and click “Add”.

Once you have clicked “Add” button, use “Exit edit mode” button.
